Experienced Museum Professional

Over two decades of experience developing exhibition projects for history
museums and culture heritage sites.

Throughout my career, I have collaborated on a range of projects at history museums and cultural heritage sites, as well as academic, archival, and library institutions.

I hold a PhD from Emory University and a MA from the University of Mississippi. My scholarly expertise includes public history, US history, history of the US South, Atlantic World history, African American history, and interdisciplinary American Studies. Before becoming an independent consultant, I worked as a senior content developer at the museum planning and design firm Ralph Appelbaum Associates (RAA), and as a public historian at the College of Charleston in my home state of South Carolina.

I support the creation of powerful storytelling experiences, and I offer a range of content development, research, and writing services. To ensure insightful, engaging, and impactful exhibitions and cultural heritage projects, I also facilitate collaborative planning with your project teams, and with a range of stakeholders. This includes museum leaders, scholars, archivists, educators, artists, and community members, as well as local, national, and international partners.
